More Than Activism
Theres life that comes into the topic of Violence Against Women and Girls that is the 16 days Of Activism.
People from Around the world spend a significant amount of time (16 Days) reflecting on the core issues that are dear to efiug, deliberate and make significant statements to act on to end violence against women and girls. There is a gender pay gap in every state.
More than 1 in 3 women experience gender-based violence during their lifetime.
More than 5 women or girls are killed every hour by someone in their own family.
There's strength in movement!
Despite these discouraging trends, there is more proof than ever that violence against women and girls is preventable. Evidence shows that the single most important driver of policy change is a strong and autonomous women’s movement—making feminist mobilization in the face of anti-rights backlash a literal matter of life and death. This Makes the 16 Days Of Activism Campaign very important to Ending Violence Against Women & Girls.
You Should Act
Today, we’re encouraging everyone to get involved: from amplifying the voices of survivors and activists to supporting women’s organizations and strengthening feminist movements, we can all act to empower survivors, reduce and prevent violence against women and girls, and protect women’s rights.

Finding Opinion!
As we engaged with local groups in communities this 2022, we also engaged women in the streets and markets to findout how much they know of femicide and what they can do to protect themselves and their loved ones from violence
AAUW believes achieving pay equity requires a multi-pronged approach:
- We need strong state and federal laws focused on ensuring equal pay for all American women. See AAUW’s economic security policy agenda.
- Employers need to commit to continuous improvement and to enacting policies and practices that will help put women on par with men. Read more about how equal pay is good for business.
- Women individually need to advocate for themselves: They need to negotiate for the best possible pay and benefits and pursue higher-paying jobs, promotions and leadership opportunities. Learn more about AAUW’s program initiatives aimed at closing the wage, STEM and leadership gaps.
