Our mission

Safety, Equity & Economic growth for Women & Girls

We’ve led the fight for safety, equity and economic opportunity for women and girls — and the battle continues: More than 56% of women and girls between 15 and 49 are still experiencing some sort of violence in their lifetime today.

Though we are nonpartisan, we are not values-neutral: We fight to remove the barriers and biases that stand in the way of gender equity. We train women to thrive in life, stay safe and lead. And we advocate for local laws and policies to ensure equity and end violence against women and girls.

Prevention & Protection

Prevention & Protection

We’ve been working to provide preventive and protective services to survivors of violence against women and girls. Violence limits women and girls from fulfilling their potential, affects their self-esteem and capacity to negotiate a better life for themselves or their families, affects their capacity to participate in life changing roles and limits their mental ability to grow as individuals.

Equity & Inclusion

Equity & Inclusion

We champion equal opportunities in work and access to services. Majority of women in Uganda are culturally bound as subordinates to men, limiting their capacity to access healthcare, social-economic and educational services. This limits our capacity to explore options that promote choices for women and girls - fueling culturally instilled male supremacy.

Information & Education

Information & Education

Information remains a powerful tool for safety, equity and inclusion for women. efiug staff understands that sharing information is important to our communities and women and girls in general. If the information/training is beneficial to women and girls, the Eliezah Foundation will make sure community hubs have that information available for women and girls in efiug communities.

Local Impact

Progress on delivery

Over 500,000 people continue to benefit from our community services. We managed to support more than 350000 people during the pandemic and continue to work with more than 300 communities in 9 districts in Uganda.
